The i-teams experience

Participants work together to create something meaningful and impactful. They take ownership over the creative process and their team. The creative journey is intrinsically motivating and allows for purpose-driven learning.

Meaningful

Ownership and social impact give purpose and crucially add to the motivating nature of project-based teamwork.

Local

Schools can form their own clubs, starting with a few pilot schools.

Rewarded

Teams participate in a big finale and can win awards based on the quality of their work.

Students are engaged throughout, even those that often struggle in regular classes. It really adds to the after-school curriculum.

Goals

I-TEAMS is a yearly STEAM challenge for teen girls age 14-18. Although the challenges change every year, they will focus on creative design or artistic projects with a social function. The experience of working in an I-TEAMS group should foster collaborative learning of coding, electronics, engineering, and design.

Girls in Tech

I-TEAMS aims to increase female participation in technology related fields by opening up pathways that focus on people and creativity.

Empowerment

Participants learn about user-centric design, creativity methods and people skills.

Innovation

Completely new approaches solve problems in meaningful ways. Teams even get to keep ownership over creations and intellectual property.

Role Models

Students get real-life exposure and gain real-world experience in a personally meaningful way.
